Afsar Akal joined Intel in 2006 and served in various roles including healthcare program management, business development and regional sales. With more than 20 years of experience in the sector, Mr. Akal has a broad spectrum of domain expertise including financial modelling, economic analysis and forecasting in health insurance and healthcare IT. He has previously worked for World Health Organization, Medicare Australia and Queensland Health and performed senior consultancy roles at the World Bank, International Labor Organization and Asian Development Bank in many developing countries. He has written a number of articles and chapters in various books on social health insurance and health care financing.
